Things to do near Novotel Bur Dubai

Meena Bazaar is a lively collection of shops spread over several streets in Dubai’s Little India. Stores sell delicious Indian snacks, textiles, traditional spices and jewellery. Bring cash as some of the smaller merchants don’t accept credit cards.

Visit Hindi Lane which is located between Meena Bazaar and the Creek. It is a vibrant alleyway filled with pooja shops selling marigold flower garlands, religious offerings and incense. Pay homage to Shiva and Krishna at the Saibaba temple.

Visit the historic creek-side district of Al Fahidi, formerly the Bastakiya Quarter which dates back to the early 1900s. Wander through the labyrinth streets lined with restored old residences topped with traditional wind towers. Stop off for refreshing mint lemonade at the Arabian Tea House.

Soak up the city’s history at the Dubai Museum at the Al Fahidi Fort.  Dubai’s history is brought to life by life-size waxworks. From the original pearl divers and ship builders to the multi-national metropolis that it is today, this small, informative museum is a great pitstop for culture-buffs.
