There is something magical about Dubai Miracle Garden in full bloom. And it’s not only because of the gigantic structures and Disney characters created out of flowers. It’s the overall spectacle.

The hundreds and thousands of tulips, petunias, roses, daisy’s and marigolds that make up the garden. The clipped boxwood hedges lining the walkways, the rolling emerald green lawns, the fanciful hilltop meadow and fields of sunflowers.

This miraculous garden is unmatched on a global scale and most surprising of all is the remarkable transformation that has taken place - converting arid desert sands into a mind-blowing oasis. This verdant garden offers a unique experience that perfectly captures the essence of Dubai – an extraordinary blend of innovation, ambition and vision.

Read on to discover more about this blooming miracle in Dubai. We've included some handy tips and advice on how to get there too.

Unique Features of the Dubai Miracle Garden

This evolving floral kingdom features intricate three dimensional floral sculptures ranging from humanoid ants, mushrooms and rose-covered swans to a towering fifteen metre wide floral clock, a vast field of sunflowers, flower-powered cars and giant-size grass elephants, unicorns and penguins.

Disney Avenue features well-known characters including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louis, Pluto and Goofy.

Other noteworthy attractions include a series of floral villas, an enormous teddy bear, the Smurf Village, a massive floral butterfly, a floral arched walkway and an umbrella tunnel.

Maintaining a garden of this magnitude takes an enormous amount of care and innovative water solutions. The garden requires over seven hundred and fifty thousand litres of water daily, thus the garden thrives on recycled waste water and an efficient drip irrigation system.

These solutions have reduced water and energy usage by nearly seventy five percent ensuring the gardens future sustainability.

Record-Breaking Floral Displays

Since inception, the Dubai Miracle Garden has received many awards and accolades. It is a triple Guinness World Record Holder. The first title was achieved in 2013, for the largest vertical garden.

The second Guinness World Record was achieved in 2016 for the biggest flower structure of an Emirates Airbus A380 superjumbo aircraft. Made up of over 500,000 flowering plants, the creation was seventy two metres long and twenty-four metres high.

The third Guinness World Record title was awarded in 2018 for the tallest topiary supported structure – an impressive eighteen metre high, 3D sculpture of Mickey Mouse.

It is acknowledged as the world’s largest natural flower garden encompassing a total area of 72,000 square metres. Next door to the Miracle Garden is the world's largest indoor butterfly garden with over fifteen thousand butterflies from 26 different species housed in ten climate controlled domes.

Seasonal Experiences and Events

Dubai Miracle Garden is only open during the winter months, from November to May. Since opening in 2013, every year has brought a new season of floral sculptures and exciting themes.

New sculptures include a floral castle, pyramids, vibrant peacocks decorated in floral plumage and a floating lady. Appearing to float in the air, with arms outstretched and hair dangling to the ground, the floating lady’s dress is made out of red and white petunias. This new design highlights the evolving creativity of the Miracle Garden’s team of horticulturists, designers and landscapers.

In season, the Miracle Garden hosts regular flower parades and floral floats accompanied by street dancers and live music. There are also yoga and Zumba sessions. Check out their Instagram and Facebook for updates and information.

  • Travel Anxiety Tips: How To Stay Calm and Balanced on the Go

It's common for pre-departure anxiety to begin quite a while before the trip starts, and there's plenty you can do in advance to manage travel anxiety. Consider a short warm-up trip, maybe somewhere local or familiar, to get used to certain aspects of travel that cause pre-trip nerves. This is especially useful if you're anxious about new types of travel, such as a solo trip or your first family holiday with children.   The build-up to your trip is also a good time to practise grounding techniques, which should help to manage your pre-travel anxiety and will continue to be useful once you set off. This includes simple meditation, like closing your eyes and focusing on a calming mental image. It also includes breathing exercises like the 4-7-8 technique, in which you inhale through your nose for 4 seconds, hold your breath for 7 seconds, then slowly exhale through your mouth for 8 seconds. Making a packing checklist will help you feel more prepared and ensure you don't forget important items. This includes comfort items like favourite books, a particular blanket or a familiar scented hand cream. Along with essentials like passports and medication, include items that create a bubble, such as noise-cancelling headphones and eye masks. Consider packing natural remedies for travel anxiety, like herbal teas or calming supplements recommended by your doctor.
